Strawberry Champagne Jam
Elevate strawberry jam by adding a splash of champagne for a hint of effervescence and sophistication. It’s perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
- 5 cups chopped strawberries
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup champagne or sparkling wine
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine strawberries, sugar and lemon juice in a large pot. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Cook until mixture thickens and strawberries soften. Add champagne and continue cooking until jam reaches gel stage.
- Skim off foam if necessary.
- Ladle jam into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace. Wipe rims and cap.
- Process in boiling water for 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
Serve this celebratory jam on scones, in layered cakes or as a fancy topping for crepes.
