Blueberry Maple Spread

Blueberries and maple syrup create a rich spread that’s less sweet than typical jams. It’s perfect for breakfast and brunch dishes.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups blueberries
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Mix blueberries, maple syrup, sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook until berries burst and mixture thickens.
  3. Use a potato masher for a chunky texture or puree for smooth consistency.
  4. Fill sterilized jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace, wipe rims and cap.
  5. Process in boiling water for 10 minutes. Cool and store.

Spread this on pancakes, waffles or fold it into muffin batter for a maple-blueberry twist.
