Cranberry Fig Chutney
Tart cranberries and sweet figs come together in a chutney spiced with ginger and cloves. It’s an excellent accompaniment to holiday roasts or cheese plates.
Ingredients
- 2 cups dried figs, chopped
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
Instructions
- Combine figs, cranberries, onion, vinegar, sugar, ginger and cloves in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until fruit softens and mixture thickens, about 30 minutes.
- Ladle hot chutney into sterilized jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.
- Seal and process in boiling water for 15 minutes.
- Cool and store for at least two weeks to allow flavors to meld.
Serve this chutney with roast turkey, pork or alongside a wedge of blue cheese.
